Backrooms (2026)

This was a trippy psychological horror film with much to unpack here. A furniture store owner discovers a portal in the basement of his store which leads to a network of endless & nonsensical designed office space rooms from the 1980s . My take of the film was that the furniture store owner was designing & carving out his second reality in this dimension and living out his dreams of being an architect while “rearranging” things. The story takes a twist when his psychologist enters the portal and tries to save him. I found the movie enormously suspenseful as I tried to piece together everything and understand what the heck was going on as layers of images and flashbacks of memories kept adding up in space like a timeline. Maybe you can piece together this psychedelic room of memories stacked on top of each other forming an overlap of spiritual energy that created this monster! Watch and tell!
