Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1974)

This Swedish movie features a young woman’s twisted tale of ultimate revenge chock full of graphic violence, nudity and some hardcore sex scenes thrown in for good measure. Thriller was originally banned in Sweden. The U.S. release under the name, They Call Her One Eye, had over 20 minutes of the original version chopped out. The role of the young woman named Madeleine was played by the alluring and voluptuous Christina Lindberg. Before Thriller, Lindberg had already been making appearances in other exploitation gems such as Anita: Swedish Nymphet, Maid In Sweden and the Japanese softcore revenge flick, Furyô anego den: Inoshika Ochô a.k.a. Sex And Fury.
A young girl’s innocence is lost after being raped by an old man in a park, rendering her mute. Pretty disturbing stuff! After recovering on her family’s farm she meets Tony who forces her into prostitution after getting her hooked on heroin. On top of that, Tony stabs her in the eye with a scalpel…a really sick scene in the movie which supposedly a cadaver was used in the filming to make the razor-to-the-eyeball scene realistic. After learning of her parents’ untimely death, Madeleine snaps and sneaks out to get lessons in martial arts, learns to fire weapons and gets driving lessons. Madeleine plots her escape and goes on a killing spree dressed in a black leather trench coat and eye patch and armed with a sawed off shotgun enacting bloody revenge one sucker at a time.
Synapse Films released this rape-revenge movie a couple years ago with 2 versions. The Limited Edition version is worth tracking down for the totally uncut and uncensored version of the film along with loads of special features including outtakes, rare photos and alternate fight scenes. The “Venegeance” Edition is probably more easier to find in stores, but it is without the explicit adult content and special feautures.

I’ve only seen the full film. I can’t imagine the short version of the films.
